My name is Emma and I am a practicing art therapist and artist working in Montréal, Québec. I have found that in my own healing process, art has helped me in instrumental ways to better understand the workings and wisdom of my inner world as well as the experiences of my body and soul better than words ever could. I will never cease to be amazed at the images that present themselves in these moments of creative connection!
In art therapy sessions, clients can explore the multi-sensorial experience of art making to externalize and better understand challenging experiences and emotions in a more accessible way than purely through words alone. No artistic ability or experience is required, only a sense of curiosity and willingness to grow.
My approach to art therapy is psychodynamic, attachment-focused, trauma-informed, gender affirmative and anti-oppressive. It is important to me that we work collaboratively together on your goals, needs, and creative interests and that you can feel safe to explore and express your emotions in a non-judgmental space.
